Lock Box Setup

Onsite integrates with smart lockboxes to provide secure access to your building.

The lockbox allows you to provide one time access codes to your building, without the need for WiFi.

When you connect your lockbox account to Onsite, it enables Onsite to generate access codes that can then be issued to contractors at the time of sign in, providing a traceable audit trail of key access.


Lockboxes can be purchased from a range of suppliers, and are typically priced between $250 and $300. We have chosen to integrate with a system that is flexible to work in a variety of environments.


Download Igloo Home App & Create Account 

  1. Download the igloohome app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store
  2. Open the igloohome app and change language as required
  3. Tap [Create new account]
  4. Fill in your details
  5. Tap [Create account] to complete registration
  6. Verify your account 
  7. Upon successful verification, your account has been successfully created
  8. Proceed to pair your first lock 

Please note: For organisations that have multiple lock boxes. It is generally best practice to create a seperate igloohome account for each building using the sites specific email address for each.


Now is a good time to install the batteries into the Igloo Home 3 (If you haven't already) .


With the batteries installed, the Igloo Home 3 nearby, and the Igloohome App open on your phone. You can begin the pairing process.


Select Start Pairing.


In the case of adding multiple devices. Pair the device that matches the code on the white sticker attached to the side of the lockbox.

Under Lock name give your lockbox a name. Use a specific name that helps you identify exactly what the lock box is for.


Under Home name add the devices building or specific location. This will help in the future should you need to have multiple lock boxes under the same account at varying locations.

Your now set to test that it has correctly paired. Test out the Unlock and Lock functions in the app to ensure it is communicating.


To integrate your lockbox with Onsite.


Follow the steps below to authorise Onsite to access your igloohome account and generate time based one time code.

  • Navigate to Site Settings      
  • Open the Integrations    tab
  • Click Manage    on the igloohome integration
  • Sign in with your igloohome account by clicking Connect Igloohome Account    

To confirm you have successfully paired the device with Onsite. The following page will display.

To further confirm, the device will appear under the Igloohome integration.

Now that we have paired the Lock Box to Onsite we need to enable the Lock Box into the platform.


Add Lockbox to site in Access Control

  • Navigate to Building      / Access Control      
  • Click Add      button
  • Enter name, location, and select type as Igloohome Lockbox 3     , then select the lockbox in the device drop down.
  • That's it, you should now be able to generate a temporary access code to test the successful setup.

You should now see the device has been integrated and ready to be used within Onsite for access control.

Full Integration with Work Orders

To unlock the full value of the integrated lockbox, please ensure you have enabled work order attendance pin in Settings   / Configurations   / Work Orders   

When enabled, the Work Order Attendance Pin setting will append a unique 5 digit pin to work orders, providing a mechanism for you to pre approve contractor access at the time of issuing a work order.
